The Division of Neonatology provides tertiary care to newborns from throughout 29 counties of eastern North Carolina.

In addition to guiding educational programs in neonatology for resident physicians in the pediatric, medicine-pediatric, and family medicine programs – as well as fellows in the Neonatology Fellowship Program – the division is also engaged in numerous research activities designed to improve the care for premature and critically ill newborns.
